John Spencer

    John is one of the original committee members who helped to join this festival to this beautiful location on the Waldo Property here in Scotland. John has always served as our go to person with any questions pertaining to this festival. John assists with all aspects of the festival from planning, set up, take down and he also is in charge of the Clan Village. Joanne has served as our committee chairperson for many years, she has taken care of all gate duties, the Scotland Libraries tent/table which serves as our main area for festival information, items for sale, etc. Joanne now assists Carl Banks with everything to do with his festival duties.

Reg Patchell

  Reg posts updates on our Face Book page as well as our web page. Reg also hires the bagpipe bands who perform at our annual festival. If you're bagpipe band would like to participate at our festival Please feel free to contact Reg.   

     Reg also contracts the animals which will be on grounds as exhibits and demonstrations. He assists in set up and take down of festival , mowing of all fields used for parking & clearing stone walls of over growth.

Bill is a committee member who  assists with many areas from the ground & stone wall upkeep, set up and take down of the festival. Bill also runs the advertising of our festival in the different medias and helps to run the Scottish Dancers booth in the Clan Village.

Elizabeth Dickerson

Elizabeth  brought up the idea of having a Harp Tent at our festival many years ago and since that first meeting she has been a very busy lady getting this program off the ground and now has a much loved following as many have a seat during the festival to watch the demonstrations as well as the contests.

How to Become a Member of the Highland Festival Comm.

Additional Information

          WE are looking for some new ( HOPEFULLY Younger) members to help us to continue this beautiful festival. Our festival is one that has a something for the  entire family to enjoy.

            Our committee meets on the  third Tuesday of each month in the meeting room of the Scotland Library. The library is located at 21 Brook Road, Scotland, Ct.

         We are not asking that you attend every meeting but a few a year will assist all of us.
